The world needs more love and encouragement. Messages of hope and support need to replace constant stream of negativity that fills our lives. We must let others know that we are here and that we care. Our priority should be to uplift others through kind words that are life-giving. Today we tried to do that.
Day 3 of the 25 Days of Giving was called Love Letters. We created cards that contained positive quotes, Bible scripture and heartfelt passages of love and encouragement. We wanted others to know that they are not alone in the battles they fight. They needed to know that storms of life only last for a season and the sun is guaranteed to shine again. We left these “letters” in coffee shops, a restaurant, and on windshields throughout the day. The girls also wrote notes that they taped in the hallways of school and on lockers of fellow classmates. We have no idea if these letters were read or not. We will never know if they made a difference or if the messages went unseen. In our hearts, we believe that at least one of them was read and maybe, just maybe, it created a smile and a sense of comfort.
We have heard from many who participated today and they shared love letters with church youth groups, expecting parents, and relatives near and far. If you shared words of love and encouragement today, we would love to hear from you.
Day 4 is tomorrow and it is called Help A Furry Friend. Donate pet food or toys to your local animal shelter or pet food pantry to support animals in need. Drop off homemade treats to pets in your neighborhood. Tomorrow is all about our the furry friends we all love so much.
