25 Days of Giving: The First Few Days

I am going to be honest. November 30th felt like Christmas Eve for me. I was energized and excited about Tuesday, December 1st. Why you may ask? The answer is simple. December 1st started our annual Christmas giving event. December 1st means the 25 Days of Giving.

We are now on the brink of Day 6 and the excitement and passion remain high. We won’t bore you with every detail from each day thus far. Just know that #25DaysGiving is off to a great start. Here are a few highlights from the first 5 days:

Great Response – The response to this year’s event has been amazing. We have a large number of people who have reached out to us via email and social media about their participation. Not only are we seeing more people, but we are seeing more FAMILIES. That, friends, makes us happy.

One Life Touched – We received a message from someone who received one of our random love letters. It was left on a car windshield in downtown Fort Wayne on Day 3.  The message simple said : “I was a recipient of a very nice card that was left on my windshield on Thursday. I feel very lucky to have received it. Life has been very difficult over the last few months. I was actually downtown to go to court with my son. Your encouraging words were so appreciated and needed on that day. Thank you for doing what you do.” One again we are reminded that simple actions are powerful!!

Smiles Everywhere – The last five days have been filled with smiles. We’ve seen them in restaurant drive-thrus, businesses, school and college classrooms, coffee shops and on the street. Best of all, we have seen them in the mirror.

Helping furry friends for Day 4 of #25DaysGiving

We are excited about the next 20 days. We truly hope you will consider getting involved at some level. It is never too late to join in.

Tomorrow, Day 6, is Help  A Neighbor. Offer a helping hand to someone in need. Rake some leaves. Shovel some snow (thankfully we cannot do that here). Pick up trash. Just do something to help a neighbor tomorrow.

If you are participating, we say thank you. You make this exciting for us. We love to see people jump in to make a difference in the lives of others. If you are willing, share your experiences and photos with us via social media using the #25DaysGiving hashtag or email us at impact52org@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you.
