Impact 52

Unexpected Kind Words

It is always nice to hear how our family has impacted the lives of others.  We never expect it and we do not look for it.  But when it comes, it is great to hear and read.  It is conformation that our actions through giving and service are making a difference.  I recently received an email that I wanted to share.  The email was from a man who leads a Cub Scout pack in Fort Wayne who invited me to speak at one of the group’s meetings.  These are his words.  You, too, can make a difference in the lives of others if you live your life on purpose with purpose.

Aaron,

I am a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason and God will never give you more than you can handle.  As I told you on the phone I was sitting in church Sunday prior to you and I speaking for the first time.  It was one of those ah ha moments where you feel like you were being spoken to by God.  On the way home I was explaining my epiphany to my wife and I said we need to do more!  I said I just have this feeling that we should be giving back.

The very next day a good friend of mine gave me your name as a person to come and speak to a cub scout pack that I am in charge of.  The topic ironically enough was How to be a good citizen and give back to your community.  I could not believe it when you said that you had an opening and would be glad to come.   I didn’t give you much advance notice but that didn’t seem to bother you at all.  After I hung up the phone everything seemed to come together like this was all planned and meant to happen.

As you began to speak that night it became very apparent that you had a very special gift and you really enjoyed helping people just to see them smile.  You captured everyone’s attention and spoke with such conviction that many of the adults stayed after the program to speak with you about how they could do more, including myself.  The next committee meeting we had a considerable amount of time spent discussing what we could do as pack to give back to our community.

I find it amazing how our chance meeting and your selfless generosity has had such a positive impact on so many people.  You truly have answered the Lords call and use your gifts to benefit everyone around you.  I want you to know that you have personally impacted my family and I tremendously.  We want to Thank you for proving that anyone can make a positive impact whether its for a single person or multiple people.  I wish you and your family the best in all of your endeavors’ and want to say THANK YOU!

Sincerely,

Chad Tinkel
