Day 13: Fill the Red Kettle

Sing it with me: “Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.  Oh what fun it is to give some change away today.”  Okay, that was really bad.  I am sorry to torture you with my singing, but I have bells on my mind today.  Our task for day 13 of our 25 Days of Giving was to help fill the red kettle.  Each year, volunteers spend hours in front of retail location ringing bells and collecting donations for The Salvation Army.  These bell ringers, the red kettles, and the sounds of bells ringing are synonymous with Christmas time.  Today, we did our part to support the Salvation Army by dropping change into the kettle outside of Hobby Lobby. It was a very easy way to support a great organization who impacts lives every day in our community.

Tomorrow our goal is to brighten someone’s day.  Our focus will be on making people laugh.  We are not sure exactly what that will look like yet, but there may be some singing involved.  The goal is to brighten someone’s day.  It is up to you how you do it.  Drop your guard and be silly.  Give out special hugs.  Just make it a priority to make someone laugh tomorrow.
