Today was day 3 of our 25 Days of Giving. The task was to make a clothing donation to a nonprofit organization, shelter, or clothing ministry. We made a donation to Street Reach for the Homeless to help clothe the men and women living on the streets of Fort Wayne. We have spent time on the streets volunteering with Street Reach and Saints on the Streets. We have seen and experienced homelessness firsthand. We also have seen, and heard, how society treats and views someone who lives on the streets. Regardless of the reasons behind their situation, they are people first. People with a story. People who might need a hand to get back on their feet and get off of the streets. That is what Street Reach for the Homeless does. We believe in the mission and will continue to support it in any way possible. We know that today’s donation will make a difference for someone living on the street.

Tomorrow is Day 4 of the 25 Days of Giving. We are calling it Parking Meters. The task is to drop change into some parking meters for others. We have learned that loading parking meters, in some areas, is illegal. If you are uncomfortable with the possibility of getting a ticket ( I am not as I plan to be a parking meter ninja) you could give change to someone for their meter or even pay for someone’s parking in a parking garage. It is totally up to you.
